Mission Education - Community - Environment - Awareness - Outreach The club stimulates the knowledge and love of gardening among amateurs, encourages the study of northern horticulture, aids in the protection of native plants and trees, and encourages civic planting. Additionally, every year we grant a scholarship to one deserving horticultural student.
Meetings & Events All meetings are the first Tuesday of the month and are open to the public. The business meeting starts at 6:30 p.m., with refreshments and social time at 7:00, and the speaker beginning at 7:30. Meetings are held at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church Fellowship Hall, 2136 Carter Avenue, St. Paul, MN 55108. The entrance is on Chelmsford.
We also sponsor an annual plant sale and a semi-annual garden tour. See the events page for more of our regular events, and the other activities page for more ways the garden club is active in the community.
History St. Anthony Park Garden Club is the brainchild of Ann Stout and Turid Ormseth, two like minds who thought there should be a local garden club for amateur gardeners. After an organizational meeting, our first meeting was April 1, 1997, at the St. Anthony Park Library. Many contributed to the organization of the club and by August we had 43 members. Today we are over 80 members strong.
The St. Anthony Park Garden Club was selected as “Garden Club of the Year” by the Minnesota State Horticultural Society for 2006.
